Donor
FAQ

We’re so grateful for your financial support over the last 5 years. Without your generosity, we wouldn’t be where we are today. We understand you may have questions, so we’ve put together a brief FAQ below to help you understand next steps:

Will you continue to create new content through April 2025?

Yes! As you’ll hear in the podcast episode, this last year will be filled with new content (including new podcast series, weekly articles, social media posts, and more), and we will maintain our typical cadence with emails and monthly newsletters. With two new podcast series, three books, and a steady stream of new content releasing between now and the ministry’s close, your donations will allow us to continue freely sharing this new content with our community.

Can I continue to support Risen Motherhood financially?

Yes, we would appreciate this! If we continue receiving donations through the end of 2024, we’re hopeful we’ll have all we need to fund the work of our team as we create new content through April 2025 and operate the website until May 2026. For tax receipt purposes, we plan to end all donation collection on December 31, 2024.

When will you stop receiving donations?

We’re trusting God to provide all we need to keep content free and accessible through Spring 2026, with donations received throughout 2024. We anticipate ending new donations on December 31, 2024, and all 2024 tax receipts will be sent in January 2025.

I have a recurring donation. Should I cancel it?

Thank you for faithfully supporting the ministry of Risen Motherhood with your monthly donation! We would love for you to continue your support through 2024. At that point, we will cancel all recurring donations starting January 1, 2025. You’ll receive a confirmation email when your recurring donation is canceled.

Will my donation remain tax deductible?

Yes, all donations will be tax deductible in the U.S. until the Board of Directors votes to dissolve the non-profit, Risen Motherhood, in Spring 2026. (Please note we plan to end all donation collection on December 31, 2024.)

Will I still be able to access my tax receipt?

Yes! As long as you receive emails from us, your tax receipt should be emailed to you each January. You can also access them using your Kindful account through December 2025.

Who will manage the remaining funds after the ministry closes in April 2025?

Our Board of Directors will continue to direct any funds through Spring 2026. Though our financial needs will change significantly as our team no longer creates new content, there will still be costs associated with managing and maintaining the website through Spring 2026.

What will happen to funds that remain after Risen Motherhood stops creating content?

In Spring 2026, our Board of Directors will go through the process of legally ending the nonprofit, Risen Motherhood. After all remaining expenses are paid, remaining funds will be given to a like-minded 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that will be determined by the R|M Board of Directors.

Why are you shutting down the website and not keeping content accessible indefinitely?

We recognize that in this day and age of the internet, content doesn’t always age well. Emily and Laura want anything associated with Risen Motherhood to be intentionally cared for and monitored well, and since one of the reasons the ministry is coming to a close is so they can shift their focus elsewhere, it would be hard to steward this well if we left our deep well of content up without full oversight.

How can I best support Risen Motherhood as a donor through the Sunset?

God has kindly allowed us to put about 8 months of operating expenses into savings. If we continue receiving donations through the end of 2024, we’re hopeful we’ll have all we need to fund the work of our team as we create new content through April 2025 and operate the website through Spring 2026. We want to be upfront and honest about our financial needs. If we receive funds for our anticipated needs sooner, we’ll let you know and encourage you to move your donations to fund like-minded ministries. We’re so grateful for your continued support!

I still have a question about my donation, who can I talk to?
