As moms, deep down, we want to know that we’re doing God’s will and making him happy. We want to know we’re being faithful. We want to do motherhood right.
From the moment we find out we’re going to be moms, the questions start coming: Am I doing this right? Am I doing enough for my child? Did I make the right decisions for feeding, sleeping, or baby gear? Those questions don’t go away. They just grow with our children. In all of these questions, what we’re looking for is a plan. A way to know if we measure up. What we’re really asking is “What—or who—do I obey?”
Obedience might seem like a word for kids, but it’s for moms too. It’s the path to God’s will for our lives—to make us more like Christ. Obedience is the outworking of the command “Be holy as I am holy” (Lev. 19:2). God doesn’t say “just give me your heart but ignore my commands if you want.” He wants all of us.
Thankfully, we don’t have to wait for an Influencer’s Stories, the next bestselling book, or watch for the stars to align to show us how to live. God does have a wonderful plan for your motherhood, and it’s not as complicated as you think.
