If we sing the ABCs with our children so that they learn how to read and write, we should also sing the ABCs of the gospel with them, so that they might grow in the faith.

The world expects us to use our pregnancy and childbirth decisions to fight our way to the top and revel in our own glory. But all of it—from conception to growing belly to crowning head—was designed to display the radiance of Jesus. He’s our only boast in childbirth.

Bedtime is not the only darkness our children will face. But God is the same in the dark as he is in the light.

We don’t all “mom” the same way in the many gray areas of motherhood—things like food choices, education decisions, and movie options. We have freedom to decide what’s best for our family, in submission to God’s word, according to our personal consciences.

Moms make the best detectives. But while we scramble to solve each mystery, our hearts can often be misled by the lie of the gospel of cause and effect.

Contentment and eagerness are two sides of the same coin.
