Ep. 178 || Don’t Take My Word for It with Jen Wilkin
Can a mom really develop a personal understanding of the Bible in the season of young children? In this episode, Emily and Laura chat with author and Bible teacher, Jen Wilkin, about her passion for biblical literacy. Jen encourages moms to pursue a firsthand knowledge of scripture and gives practical examples of what this might look like. She offers encouragement to set aside larger blocks of time, get involved in a structured study with accountability, and consistently consume the word whenever and wherever you can. If you haven't been sure how an understanding of scripture can impact your role as a mom, you'll be so challenged and encouraged by this interview!

R|M Apply Questions:
How would you describe your understanding of the Bible? What are some challenges you have faced in trying to grow in biblical literacy? How would you like to grow more in this area?
In the season of young children, it can be easy to use the demands of motherhood as an excuse not to study the Bible, but most of us have a pocket of time somewhere! How could you adjust your expectations or use time creatively to integrate Bible study into your day (or week)?
Jen talked about the importance of accountability to help us consistently spend time in the word. How could you establish accountability for yourself through your church, friends, or family?
Why is it important to study the Bible directly and not only rely on devotionals, sermons, podcasts, etc.?
How does the truth that “the heart cannot love what the mind does not know,” encourage you to spend time in God’s word?
