Abundance 01: What If I Don’t Have What It Takes?
We love a good mom hack, but we’ve yet to find one that makes motherhood feel like a breeze. Whether it’s that first all-nighter with a newborn or the tough conversations that come as our kiddos get older, motherhood brings *all* the opportunities to feel our limits. In this episode, Emily and Laura share some of the areas they’ve felt weak in motherhood and a few principles to keep in mind as we look to Christ’s strength in our weakness. Emily also gives an exclusive look at her new book, He Is Strong: Devotions for When You Feel Weak. Take heart, mom: in Christ we don’t just receive life—we receive life abundant (John 10:10). Let’s bring our weakness before him today and trust that he stands in the gap.

R|M Apply Questions:
What are some areas where you feel your limits in motherhood? (This can be big-picture or day-to-day rhythms where you feel you fall short.) Spend some time in prayer that the Lord will help you see his strength in light of your weakness.
Read 2 Corinthians 12:9. How might God use your human limits to bring glory to himself today?
How do you think God views you in your weakness? (Psst! This is a great opportunity to journal if you have the time and capacity.)
After writing down some of your thoughts, read Matthew 11:28-30. Does Christ’s description of the way he sees you match what you believe?
What are some practical ways you can trust the Lord in the challenges of your current season? This is a good opportunity to revisit some of the principles Emily and Laura outlined in the show:
God provides others where we might lack—is there someone in your church family who you can seek for wise counsel?
God’s Spirit is working in us, and Christ invites us to bring our struggles to him—bring your requests to God today and trust his work and timing.
God always sees us and is working for our good—we have a sure, eternal hope in the gospel. Pray that the Spirit will open your eyes to this hope today.
