Ep. 148 || Making Decisions: How do I Choose Wisely in Motherhood?
We make so many decisions in motherhood. Daily, we consider things like, what snack should I feed my child? How much screen time should they have? What discipline strategy should I use for this tantrum? And we also ask deeper, bigger questions like, how should we handle their schooling? What church should our family go to? How much time should we spend away from our kids? In today’s episode, Emily and Laura discuss how they each process decision-making and the many factors that influence the final outcome. God calls each of us to a dependent life that aligns with our deepest desire—to love and live like Christ in all we do, big and small.

R|M Apply Questions:
In motherhood, we make decisions each day, sometimes even every minute! Which decisions bring you the most stress, insecurity, or guilt? Why are they particularly hard?
What factors contribute to your everyday, moment-by-moment decisions? If there is an area of life that you want to see change (feeding your family different foods, handling sibling conflicts in a new way, spending more time in prayer, etc.) what practical things might you need to alter to see a change?
What factors contribute to your family life and “big” decisions? What does God call all mothers (and families) to do and how is that playing itself out in your family? Where would you like to see growth?
How can you trust God, even when you’re not sure you’re making the right decision? What promises in scripture give you comfort and peace?
One question we can ask in our decision-making is, “Will this make me more like Christ?” We don’t always know how God will work in our hearts, but we can examine our motives. Do you want to be more happy in this life or more holy? What evidence do you have for your answer?
